And now we are at the Cypress Archaeological Project. I had just finished cleaning up the well behind me that I'd spent the past week excavating. It may not look like a well to the untrained eye, mostly because the dirt around it had been scooped out already to make sure the brick work wouldn't collapse on the archaeologist (me). I was actually about 8 feet below the street surface of Oakland at this point.
